The ground flower petals of Hibiscus are used as a coffee substitute when taken with a pinch of lemongrass. In folklore, the flowers are traditionally believed to be an aphrodisiac.*

To make a tea, pour boiling water over 1–2 tablespoons of the flowers and strain after 5–10 minutes.

The flowers contain gossypetin and anthocyanins, including hibiscin.

Hibiscus not only makes a delicious beverage, but contains a high concentration of flavonoids. This beautiful plant was first used in Upper Egypt and has only grown in popularity for its color and flavor that it adds to a variety of drinks and teas.

If using prescription medications, seek the advice of a health care professional before using this product. Not to be taken during pregnancy or if breastfeeding without consulting a health care professional. Not intended for sale to persons under the age of 18 years. Keep out of reach of children.
