As the name implies, THUNDERSTORM IN THE WILDERNESS offers the sonic experience of witnessing a passing storm. The album features various sorts of wildlife, including loons, birds, frogs and other arboreal creatures chattering in the foreground. Soon a slow, steady rain begins to fall. The forest creatures grow quiet as the air fills with tension caused by the impending storm. A light thunder rumbles in the distance and before long, you are listening to one of nature's most replenishing acts - a mild thunderstorm. When it passes, the wildlife resumes its clatter and life continues on as if nothing happened at all. This particular thunderstorm recording was captured by Dan Gibson and is part of the "Solitudes" series.
This authentic, digital recording of the ocean offers the most realistic reproduction of surf imaginable. Treated to the gentle sound of waves lapping onto rocks and sweeping across sandy beaches, the listener can escape to a solitary retreat on a remote shoreline. Ocean Surf is timeless and sublime, and is guaranteed to provide a therapeutic, calming effect when played quietly. Or, at a higher volume, the program can provide an invigorating and exciting marine experience. (Only the sound of the surf is featured here. There is no wildlife or musical accompaniment.)
