The most common use of these nuts (seeds) is in the ritual chewing of the "betel-quid." This habit is very widespread throughout Asia, India and the Pacific, making it one of the most popular energizers in the world. People chew it to help increase feelings of well-being and mental focus. As usual, our betel nut comes from a small farm that has been owned by the same family for over 100 years. Hand picked and hand cleaned, this betel nut is the best quality available anywhere! Generally the the betel-quid is a small morsel consisting of a quarter betel seed (cushed), a pinch of lime, spices like cardamom or nutmeg for flavour all wrapped in a betel leaf (Piper betle). On some Pacific Islands it is traditional for the men to also add tobacco into the package.

Egyptians worshipped Blue Lily as a sacred plant and a symbol for the origins of life, rising from the mud this flower of pure and clean beauty. The Egyptians believed that the world was originally covered by water and darkness. A Blue Lily sprang up from the water and opened its petals to reveal a young god, a Divine Child. Light streamed from the Divine Child to banish universal darkness. This child god was the Creator, the Sun God, the source of all life. When the Pharaoh known as King Tut was entombed, his body was covered in Blue Lily flowers. And both Amenhotep IV and Ramses III are known to have had them growing purely for their ornamental value in their palace gardens.
Blue Lily was traditionally used to relieve pain, increase memory, increase circulation, promote sexual desire, and create a sense of well being. According to recent studies, Blue Lily may contain health-giving phytosterols and bioflavonoids.

These seeds and pods are picked from the same single pond on the small farm in Nepal that the Blue Lotus petals and stamens are from. They have a rich blue hue, and are completely organic. These seeds have even been known to sprout years after they have been picked, but are most often used along with their pods to make seed tinctures.

These giant seeds have a long history as a powerful vivid dream inducer when mixed in a pipe with tobacco or even when mixed with your favorite herb. The plant has a long history and appears naturally from near Durban northwards throughout tropical Africa and into India, Asia and Australia.
The extraodinarily large seeds are often carried or worn on necklaces and pendants as lucky charms, but since Africa is a culture that believes that contact with their ancestors comes through dreams, they have found and cultivated plants that help achieve this spiritual connection, and this is one of them.

These organic, untreated seeds are imported directly from our private grower in Madagascar and inspected for freshness and quality upon arrival. This particular strain of HBWR contains no poisonous alkaloids, but these seeds have been used safely and medicinally as a nervine tonic in Ayurveda for countless years. Sold by weight, not by quantity.
HBWR seeds originated in India, where they are still used in Ayurvedic medicine today as a nervine tonic. This is the strain that is used for those purposes, and they are slightly larger and more oblong than any other Woodrose seeds we offer. Properly cultivated this plant would make a beautiful addition to any garden. Click here for more info...

These Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds are imported directly from Ghana. Not nearly as high quality as our Hawaiian HBWR seeds, but we still guarantee that many will germinate. These are indeed A. nervosa, but are a different strain and don't have the fuzzy coating associated with seeds from Hawaii. Sold by weight, not by quantity...numbers may vary.
Properly cultivated this plant would still make an interesting addition to any garden, though, and because these seeds are so inexpensive, you can spread a large amount over a wide area. Spraying seeds with chemicals can not only weaken the strain, but it can greatly reduce germination rates of seeds as well. For this reason, we offer untreated seeds to our customers, organically grown and harvested as often as possible.
These viable seeds are not for human or animal consumption. They are sold for cultivation purposes only. Click here for more info...

These organic, untreated Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (HBWR) seeds are imported directly from Mauii and inspected for freshness and quality upon arrival. These are our prized seeds and they're getting more and more difficult to find each year. Please don't be fooled by inferior seeds sold for less; these seeds have an average germination rate of about 95%, unlike any other Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds we've purchased elsewhere. Sold by weight, not by quantity. Our Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds also have been verified by an independent lab for authenticity and quality, and these are always sold first come, first serve.
Seeds of the Argyreia nervosa may have once been used in sacramental rituals in the Pacific Islands by high priests, but research is quite spotty. But, it's the beautiful plant that comes from these seeds that's the truly magnificent thing about Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds, and especially this prized Hawaiian strain hand-picked from farmland specifically set aside in Hawaii to grow these seeds. Properly cultivated this plant would make an absolutely lush, beautiful, and colorful addition to any garden.
These viable seeds are not for human or animal consumption. They are sold for cultivation purposes only. Click here for more info...

The Aztecs use of Prickly Poppy seeds ritualistically is well documented. What is less documented is the fact that they also reportedly smoked the seeds. There is little known about the active consituents of Prickly Poppy though, as information is scarce. The use of this plant was limited to the priests, and as Christian Ratsch stated in 1995; "[Prickly Poppy seeds] may have been utilized for Shamanic journeys into the worlds beyond. This is enticing and exciting for spiritual explorers who want to learn about the place that plants such as this have in Shamanic historical contexts. Click here for more info...

The Xhosa call the plant "undela zimmhlope" which translates as "white ways" or "white paths." The Xhosa use the roots of this plant to induce prophetic dreams and to communicate with ancestral spirits. Also carries the name "ubulawu." Many of the reported visionary plants in South Africa seem to be oneirogenic (dream inducing). These effects have been confirmed by a number of western researchers studying South African traditional healing. It appears that the Southern Bantu-speakers value oneirogenics and other psychoactives because of the fundamental association of dreams with the ancestor spirits in their culture. Dreams are the primary medium through which the ancestors are believed to communicate with the diviner.
