These are WHOLE organic Blue Lotus Flower Stamens, hand-picked from a single pond, on a small farm in Nepal.  It takes a large amount of flowers to produce just a handful of stamens, so these are offered seasonally, and often disappear quickly.  Lotus stamens are the strongest part of the Blue Lily plant, and are often referred to as the "poor man's" saffron. Only 1 teaspoon per cup of tea or 2 tablespoons per bottle of wine.  Blue Lotus, in general, is said to produce a "feeling of joy that permeates the whole body, emanating from every cell" that is "delightfully wonderful and lasts for some time."

 

This action of the Lotus flower is true of animals as well as human beings. Lotus offers one of the highest vibrations of any flower. As well as stimulating spiritual evolvement it acts as a "booster" to other flower essences intensifying and spiritualizing their effects. Lotus essence acts on all levels encouraging a gentle unfolding of the highest potential within the animal.

Today it is widely used for herbal remedies as it has emollient (hydrating) and astringent (anti-inflammatory) properties. Mullein has been used since ancient times as a remedy for skin, throat and breathing ailments. 

Passiflora incarnata has a perennial root, and the herbaceous shoots bear three-lobed, finely-serrated leaves and flesh-colored or yellowish, sweet-scented flowers, tinged with purple. The ripe, orange-colored, ovoid, many-seeded berry is about the size of a small apple. The yellow pulp is sweet and edible.

There appears to be no detailed analysis of this species, but its active principle, which has been called Passiflorine, has caught the interest of several researchers.  The leaves and stems give a pleasant repose perhaps because it seems to have a calming effect on the central nervous system. It makes a GREAT tea no matter the time of day.

Tagetes erecta, Aztec Marigold, is indigenous from Mexico to Guatemala and naturalized in the rest of Central America and the western Andes of South America. In the Oaxaca region of Mexico the Zapotecs used Tagetes as a primary herb in purification rituals. The plant is popular with the Tarahumara Indians of Chihuahua and is used by the modern Huichol Indians in their religious rituals. When smoked, the plant is said to enhance closed-eye visions. 

The botanical genus name Tagetes is in reference to a Roman deity, Tages, which was originally an Etruscan god of prophecy. Today Tagetes erecta continues to be a strong smoking herb - especially when blended in equal amounts with Tagetes lucida, Mexican Tarragon, to make a super combination the Aztecs dubbed "Zempaxochitl."

The active component responsible for the pleasant effects of this plant is Leonurine, which has now been isolated and is being synthesized in a lab, but of course, it's less effective than the actual plant. South Africa made this plant famous, and use is reported among several indigenous tribes who used both the leaves and the flowers of this powerful spiritual ally. The flowers were often added to tobacco, but also act as powerful enhancer for many other herbs.

 

The flowers are where the most concentrated active alkaloids are, and as you decide on your Wild Dagga purchase, know this:  There are many who offer Wild Dagga Flowers, but it's important to know this that these particular flowers are from the LESS STRONG (and less expensive) variety called "Leonotus leonurus" and not the more portent strain known as "Leonotis nepetifolia."  The stronger strain of Wild Dagga flowers is also called "Klip Dagga" (and this goes for the leaves as well).  This is why we offer more than just one variety of plants; to educate you about what is real about and what is often misrepresented by many unscrupluous vendors on the internet.
